10/17/07 ~ 10/20/07: POLAND!! Otto & Moto Audio Visual Mini Tour
Our first performance in Poland was part of the
"Transvizualia 2007" festival. Me and my wife flew to Warsaw where we met Otto and then the three of us took another flight to Gdansk a city located at the northern edge of Poland. I had been wanting for a chance to visit Poland ever since I worked on an ad campaign project for a Polish movile phone company called Heyah two years ago.
Although it was mid-October it was already really cold when we got there and it even snowed a few times. Poland was amazing, a unique mix of modern, traditional, ex-communist and other influences. I found Polish people to be extremelly friendly, full of energy and also everyone had cool haircuts.
Once in Gdansk we met Natalia, one of the organizers for TransVisualia. Our performance took place the next day, first we enjoyed the other artists performance including the Polish band Dick 4 Dicks (yes, it's a questionable name!).
The audience at Gdansk was great, we celebrated by drinking Vodka with chile and honey, a Polish specialty, with other performers after the show.

10/19/07: Klub Elektro @ Katowice
We took a 9 hours train ride from Gadansk to Katowice, which is in Southern Poland. Anna, the event organizer for the show at
Klub Elektro
picked us up in the station. We went directly to the venue, which was located in an amazing, multi-store building, she told us there was also a new age convention going on next door.
Elektro Club is one of those places that feel where you can stay for a long time, it has a small stage which I liked because it allowed us to feel very close to the audience. Everyone who worked at the club was really friendly and helpful. They also had an in-house artist that created a really cool poster for our performance, sort of combination between Otto and my style (check it out in the photos below).
We spent the rest of the afternoon setting up for the performance, also trying some delicious traditional Polish food, periogi, soup and of course more vodka! When the time for the performance came I was amazed of how many people showed up, the place was packed and everyone seemed ready for a great time. The energy of young people again was contagious and Otto and I really enjoyed ourselves!
To Anna, Natalia and all the people that we met in Poland, thank you so much again for your warm welcome and unforgetable experience!

Event poster by the in-house artist at the club Lounge area of Elekro Klub Coolest restaurant I have ever been to. My wife told me that there were swans on the beach and they started chasing her. I didn't believe her until she showed me this photo. Train ride from Gdansk to Katowice Ice cream shop at the airport
Bedside table equiped with radio. Damn... I want this in my apartment.
